1 What is a Book Review?
In short, a book review is a written work that summarizes the plot of a book without revealing too much and then discusses non-plot aspects of the book, such as themes. A book review is an almost even mix of plot summarization and commentary (opinion) on the story and the writing.

2 What Are Other Forms of Review Writing?
Other forms of review writing you're probably already familiar with include music and movie reviews. Below are a few web sites to get you thinking about review writing:

You must read and review at least two books from our classroom library this year.

Here are the book review due dates for the year:
Friday, September 24
Friday, November 5
Friday, December 17
Friday, January 28
Friday, March 11
