iiEnglish 9/10 Homework
i
The English 9/10 concept supposes that homework is assigned when an in-class task is not completed. Mr. Yurka and Mr. Stratton consider each 37-minute class the best opportunity to improve reading and writing skills for all students, and expect that with good instruction and time management on the part of teachers, motivated and efficient students will be able to complete their required work in class.

However, on several occasions each grading quarter, students will be engaged in long-term projects or writing assignments which will require time spent working on English outside of class. When those occasions come up, we will keep you informed in the areas below.

What We Are Studying Right Now:
Scripted and Unscripted Storytelling

To Identify the features, characteristics and structures of stories
To understand and mimic what good storytellers do
To tell, in writing, an interesting story from our own lives
To understand how to prepare for a presentation for others
To prepare for that presentation
To record that story in front of a live audience without notes
Long Term Projects or Writing Assignments We're Working On
During Week 14 (December 7-11), students will be telling their stories in front of a live audience this week, and possibly, depending on schedules, next week. The written story was due on paper last Friday.
